Awards

The Prince's Rainforests Project Award for Schools has been designed to encourage children and teachers to build their knowledge and understanding of tropical deforestation, climate change and related issues, as well as encouraging creativity and problem solving skills.

Example of Rainforest Guardians certificateThe scheme incentivises learning about rainforests and the use of our Rainforest Quests - a series of exciting, interactive lessons that provide a framework for learning which encourages creativity and problem solving skills. However you are welcome to participate in the awards scheme whichever country you’re in and whatever rainforest work your students do as long as the work is submitted in English!

To move up each of the four stages, starting at Rainforest Apprentice, moving up through Rainforest Explorer and Rainforest Ranger to Rainforest Guardian, the class must complete a number of Rainforest Quests or other rainforest-related lessons of your choice and submit examples of their work through the website. Each of the stages is represented by a rainforest inhabitant and is detailed below. A certificate will be awarded for each level achieved - to download it you will need to log into your account and click on "Add/edit classes".

3. Rainforest Ranger

At the third level, Rainforest Ranger, your pupils will have worked together to discover and learn about the roles of tropical rainforests by completing at least two more Rainforest Quests and submitting evidence to the gallery on this website. This level is represented by the agile Amazonian Squirrel monkey, found in the rainforest canopy.
