Rainforest Roll the Dice and Explore

Group size:

Groups of up to 12 children

Resources:

• 1 or 2 large foam dice
• Items of clothing and equipment required for a rainforest expedition. These should be suitably labelled with spots or numerals 1-6 or 1-12 as required.
• A large teddy for game 1

Activity:

Game 1:
Group the children in a circle on the carpet.  Explain that teddy is going on an expedition into the rainforest. Children take turns to roll the dice and win a piece of equipment to give to teddy. Continue until teddy is fully dressed and ready to go on his expedition!

Game 2:
Children play competitively to win clothing/equipment for themselves. Who has the most items by the end of the game? To make the game more challenging use 2 dice and add the numbers, or label the items so that children are matching spots to numerals.
