Game 1: Rainforest lotto Each player is given a board depicting six different rainforest creatures, plants or related objects. Cards are placed face downwards in the centre of the table. Children take turns to take a card from the top of the pile with which to cover the matching picture on their board. Any non- matching cards are placed back on the table in a pile face upwards .Players may select any cards from the top of this pile or from the original pile. The first person to cover all the pictures on their board wins the game.
Game 2: Rainforest pairs Matching pairs of cards are placed randomly face downwards on the table. Children take it in turns to pick up any two cards. If they find two matching objects they win that pair to keep and are able to have a second turn. A player’s turn continues until a non- matching pair is selected, in which case play passes to the next player. Players who pick up non-matching pairs must return them to their original positions face downwards on the table. Play continues until all the cards have been matched. The player with most pairs wins.
Game 3: Rainforest snap Cards are dealt out to each player and held face-downwards. Players take turns to place a card face upwards on a pile in the centre of the table. When 2 matching cards are placed on top of the pile the first player to shout “Snap!” wins the pile and takes the next turn. Play continues until one player has won the whole pack of cards.
