Rainforest Alliance Rainforest Stories: Read about kids who live in and near rainforests. In what ways are your lives alike? How are they different? How are children from other parts of the world helping to protect the Earth's resources? 

  • Chayo's Andean Home: Chayo lives in Rio Negro, Colombia. She works on the family farm and goes to school, where she learns all about the birds and animals that live in the rainforests.
     
  • Clara and the Armadillo: Clara lives in Rio Negro, in the mountains of Colombia. One day she meets an armadillo named Arturo who needs a nice, safe place to live. Can Clara help him?
     
  • Manny Manatee and the Mystery of the Murky Water: When Manny Manatee accidentally swims into Sea Turtle because the water is so murky, he sets off on a mission to find out what is making the river dirty.
     
  • My Dad, the Ranger:  Akeem is six years old and lives in Punta Gorda, Belize. His father is a ranger in the Marine Reserve, which protects the ocean and the creatures who live in it. Akeem is learning to be a ranger.
     
  • Romel's Rainforest Home: Romel is thirteen and a Chachi Indian. He lives in the village of San Salvador, in western Ecuador, surrounded by rainforest. The Chachi couldn't live without the rainforest and they are working hard to protect it.
     
  • Alex Goes Exploring in El Imposible:  Alex lives in San Miguelito, in the mountains of western El Salvador, next to El Imposible National Park. Alex learns all about the animals that live in the park and wants to become a nature guide when he gets older.
     
  • Life in San Miguelito:  Alex talks about his life in San Miguelito, helping out on the family farm, planting and harvesting, and going to school and learning about the local birds.
