Ants by Kurumikidz
KURUMIKIDZ is fundamentally an eco-musical education project made up of British and Brazilian educators and musicians who care very much for the environment and would like to plant a seed of thought in every child and adult's mind about the importance of the rainforests to the world.
KURUMIKIDZ members have made some beautifully educational songs about the environment and especially about the Amazon. One of the songs, which has been gifted to The Prince’s Rainforests Project to use on their site, is about ANTS and the part they play in the eco-system and their continued fight to save their homes. It is a message to soldier on and protect the rainforest: how to persevere in order to defend the environment. The Ant song is composed by Chico Chagas, (www.myspace.com/chicochagas), arrangement by Neal Whitmore and lyrics and vocals by Kelly Hammond, Ana Lelia Losekann and Caroline Chan. There is also an eco- lesson plan available for teachers on this site.
KURUMIKIDZ are currently building up their repertoire and at the end of the year they will release a CD. In the meantime, you can find songs to download, ecological lesson plans and information about eco- workshops for schools on their website: www.kurumikidz.com

Save the Amazon Rainforest Organisation (STARO) is a registered charity set up to promote and create sources of income such as harvesting fruits, nuts, brazil nut oil, honey from the stingless bees and other sustainable resources. We also help to create scientific studies to evaluate the true value of the forest. We aim to prove that the rainforests are more valuable alive than cut and burned. Our song ' Breathe' written for us by our STARO Patron, the Australian singer Luc Floreani, came about as a way to empower people children and adults alike to join together and make their voice heard.
